Omega-3 fish oil or Omega 3 fatty acid is an essential oil which brings advantages for human beings and its health. It is hard to limit the advantages of Omega-3 fish oil for a one little article because it has enormous benefits. When talking about all the other fat that the body required, the body has the capability of producing the essential and required fat by the body itself. But, when it comes to Omega-3 fish oil, it cannot be produced by the body itself. Therefore, we have to take them from outside, from the food we intake. There are three types of Omega-3 fatty acids namely, Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). From these, ALA is found in plant sources such as nuts and seeds. Examples of ALA are, flaxseeds, walnuts, vegetable oil, fat taken by plant eating animals. Body use ALA to be used as energy. EPA and DHA are mainly found in fish and the highest portion of EPA and DHA are found in salmon and cold-water fish.

Omega-3 fish oil provided with many benefits for human beings such as, reducing the risk of depression, reducing the joint pain gradually, lowering inflammation, improving lung functions and thereby reducing the risk of asthma, reducing the risk of cancer formation, reducing the symptoms of ADHD (ADHD stands for “Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder” which has the symptoms such as,  not paying attention and hyperactive behavior of children. It has been found by scientists that, taking fish oil by ADHD children may increase their thinking capabilities, attention etc. but taking fish oil as the primary treatment for ADHD is not acceptable). Not only these, but also, Omega-3 fatty acid is good for pregnant ladies because this oil helps to enhance brain functions and neurological development of the infants. Omega-3 fish oil has best results for the skin. This may not be known by many people but it has good results for hair and skin too. Now let’s talk about the benefits of Omega-3 fish oil for skin. Omega-3 has the capability of protecting the skin from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. DHA and EPA in Omega-3 have the capability of protecting the skin from harmful sun rays. It has the capability of preventing and soothing the inflammatory conditions occurred due to harmful UV rays. The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has conducted a research using omega-3 fatty acids, by giving 3.5 ounces of Omega-3 fatty acids for five years consecutively to adults and found out that omega-3 has reduced the formation of skin rashes which causes due to the exposure to harmful sun rays which has the possibility of turning into skin cancers later-on. When talking about skin cancers, Omega-3 fish oil has the capability of reducing the risk of skin cancer formation. As per the research published by a group of researchers in the University of Manchester on February 26, 2013, found that taking Omega-3 fish oil have the ability of protecting us from skin cancer. Further, it has found that, taking a regular dose of fish oil will boost the immunity of skin to sunlight and will boost up the skin’s ability to fight skin cancers. Acnes are occurred when the skin produces excessive oil called sebum. This sebum mixed with dead skin get clogged in the skin hair follicles. This will create an environment for bacteria growth. The skin tries to get rid of this dead skin through the immune system and will form the reddish lumps on the skin namely acnes.  According to an article published in the Archives of Dermatology, researched 1,200 participants including both teens and adults in New Guinea has provided with food that contains Omega-3 fatty acids and found that they didn’t come-up with any single acne in two years of study. This is the best remedy for hormonal acnes. Hormonal acnes are occurred in both teens as well as in the adults due to several reasons such as pregnancy, hormonal fluctuations, problems related to menstruation cycle. Takin Omega-3 will help to produce a hormone named as Prostaglandins which has the capability of regulating the amount of testosterone produced by human body and will heal hormonal imbalances.

Wrinkle around eyes, mouth, forehead are the reasons for stress, environmental pollution, unhealthy diet, lack of nutrients and oxygens, less collagen production with the age, cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption. Omega-3 fatty acid can be named as a good solution for this problem of wrinkles. “Omega-3 supplements may slow a biological effect of aging” is a research published by Ohio State University on October 1, 2012, it found that Taking enough omega-3 fatty acid supplements to change the balance of oils in the diet could slow biological process linked to aging. This was found by giving omega-3 supplement for four months for middle-aged and older adults. Skin hydration is another good property of omega-3 fatty acid.  Fat content in omega 3 helps to maintain and secure the fat content in the skin by sealing the moisture inside the skin cells. Therefore, having omega-3 fatty acids will be the best solution for maintaining skin hydration even in winter season. Applying Omega-3 fatty acid oil directly on face or other body parts will rejuvenate the skin while avoiding skin dryness, skin wrinkles and most importantly it will provide you with glowing and radiant skin while improving the smoothness of the skin. These are some of the benefits of taking omega-3 fatty acids inside the body and it is good to apply the oil on the skin too. Omega-3 fatty acid is available on different types of fishes such as bluefish, salmon, mackerel, sardine, lake trout, tuna and it is available in some plant-based products such as walnuts, canola oil, flaxseed and flaxseed oil and chia seed etc. But it is said that, you cannot take a similar amount of omega-3 fatty acid from plant-based products as you taken from non-plant-based products such as fish. If you are taking omega-3 fatty acids in the form of food it is good but if you are taking omega-3 fatty acid as a supplement it is good to take doctor’s advice before taking pills and liquid inside the body because different individuals have different body conditions and diseases. If you are unable to take omega-3 fatty acid with daily food intake, it is good to take omega-3 supplements as above forms. Generally, it is advisable to take one or two fish oil pill a day but it an important thing to take doctor’s advice. Since these are natural remedies, you have to take these pills or apply these pills continuously for about four months to show the results. Since omega-3 fatty acids will provide people with many health benefits it is good to take it with the doctors’ approval.
