Do traditional hair oils make miracles?

Strong, non-frizzy, tamed, shiny, thick, soft and healthy hair is a dream of every girl. Having damaged and weak hair strands, lack of moisturizer in the scalp or hair, falling hair, frizzy hair will surely drive people crazy. Sometimes the amount of oil generated by the scalp is not really enough and will lead for hair dryness. Baldness may be the other end of this hair problem and may be the extreme result of unhealthy hair. But the question is, is it easy to obtain a healthy and nourished hair with our busy lifestyle? Because of the modern life style we have to deal with many obstacles like the exposure to a polluted environment and exposure to products with chemicals. Most of the hair care products we use such as hair shampoos, hair conditioners, soaps are abundant of chemicals and make a huge impact for hair damages. Not only this, but also some habits such as over washing hair, exposure to hair ironing and hair curling machines under excessive heat and hot climate damage our hair. In instances like this hair oils come as a rescue agent.

Hair oil is a rescue for all these hair problems. Ladies in ancient India and China used these natural hair oils made out of natural ingredients to keep their hair healthy and nourish.  Nowadays, Natural and synthetic hair oils are available in the market and also there are some products which are a combination of natural and synthetic hair oils in different percentages. Synthetic hair oils are made out of silicones and natural hair oils are made up of natural ingredients such as bark of trees, different natural flowers, different stem parts, herbs, roots etc. these natural ingredients include hibiscus flowers, amla powder, juice of Indian gooseberries, leaves of neem tree and bark of leave tree (powder of the bark and leaves of neem leaves are also used), juice and powder of curry leaves, onion, black seeds etc. Combination of these required natural ingredients are mixed with oils and boiling until it releases its’ nutrients to the oil. Then, that oil can be separated from a sieve to remove all the unnecessary remains and can apply on the scalp. Or else these ingredients can be soaked for few days in a chosen oil until the color of the oil changes. Combination of certain hair oils such as almond oil, argon oil, coconut oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, castor oil, mustard oil, black seed oil is also another good practice for all the hair problems. When applying these oils, it is good to select an oil that suits your scalp type. If you have an oily scalp light weighted oils have to be used and if you have a dry scalp heavy weighted oil has to be used.Then these oils can be applied on scalp and massage gently until all the nutrients are absorbed. This helps to enhance blood circulation and this is actually a good remedy for premature hair greying, fizziness, dry hair, dandruff and help to regain natural moisture of the scalp and help to reduce hair fall.

There are different types of hair oils such as base oil, essential oil, hair serum, carrier oil etc. Essential oils are extracted from different parts of plants such as leaves, bark, nuts, flowers, roots, fruits, twigs etc. peppermint oil, lavender oil, lemon oil, rose oil, sandalwood oil are some of the examples of essential oils. These oils can also be applied in the hair to gain advantages like hair moisturization, giving a calming fragrance to the hair. Not only these advantages to the hair but also, we can say essential oils make other miracles because it has the ability of curing certain health issues such as anxiety and stress. The smell of some essential oil is a best remedy for stress and anxiety. Aromatherapy with essential oil is the best soothing agent for anxiety and stress relieving. Some oils such as peppermint oil, lavender oil and ethanol mixture in head and skin to relieve pain is a good remedy. Application of sesame oil helps to avoid migraine issues. Lavender oil and sleep have positive relationship. Smelling lavender oil helps to enhance sleeping habits of people. Peppermint oil and tea tree oil helps to avoid bacterial effects. Some of the skin care products such as face wash and cleansing products are included with these essential oils. Some of the essential oils help to scent the laundry and homes. Some oils such as citronella used as a mosquito repellent.

Usage of these oils is a good ritual to be addicted. It will soothe all the problems and will do miracles in human lives. Hair oil applications can be adapted to lives as a ritual and can be started as a new habit in this coronavirus time.
