The effort and the risk taken by the tattoo artist to give his or her client the maximum output is remarkable. This is a very delicate work which can be used to create various mind-blowing triumphs or to cover various imperfections of the body (eyebrows, lip coloring). Now, tattoos are becoming more common. Twenty or thirty years ago getting a tattoo was a very painful experience but today tattooing is not as painful as it used to be because machines are using today to get tattoos. However, before getting a tattoo the person who is getting the tattoo has to be more cautious and it is better doing some researches before taking a tattoo because it is not something that can be easily taken off and the tattoo you have been taken is visible to the world by representing the individual.

  • KEEP YOURSELF HYDRATED

Drinking a lot of water and keeping ourselves hydrated is a good practice to be healthy and to avoid a lot of skin problems. If you have a habit of keeping the body hydrated it is wise practice in tattooing too. If you have not mastered the practice of drinking water, try to drink water at least three days prior to your tattooing day and it is a must to drink at least 8 glasses of water. Drinking a lot of water before getting the tattoo will make the skin more resilient which makes the person who gets the tattoo to endure the longer hours in the tattooing process. Not only this, keeping hydrated will provide more benefits such as, healing quickly, ability to insert the tattoo ink easily to the skin and making the tattoo application easier.

  • AVOID TAKING THESE

Alcohol and aspirin are considered to be blood thinners. Therefore, it is said to avoid these two before 24 hours of getting tattooed because it is believed to be bleed more if you take aspirin or alcohol. Some says this is a myth but some says this is a real situation. Whatever it is, it is good to avoid these two to be on the safe side.

  • WEAR EASY CLOTHS

Wearing easy and comfortable clothes which are not tight is a very important thing to be adhered before doing the tattoo. Because it helps to be comfortable throughout the tattooing sessions and therefore, dressing appropriately is a must. For an example if you are taking a big tattoo it will take long hours during the tattooing process. By wearing easy, big and comfortable clothes will help you to be calm when taking the tattoo. Not only this, it will help the tattoo artist to access the area where the tattoo is been designed. For an example, if the tattoo is been designed on the leg, wear a short to reveal the area easily and to access the area easily.

  • EAT WELL AND BRING SNACKS

Eating a proper meal before getting tattooed is a must because it is providing with many advantages like providing energy to sustain the pain occurred during the tattoo session and in order to bear the long tattooing session. But still make sure to take a solid meal that is rich in protein and less in sugar. But if you have a very long tattoo session don’t forget to bring a small snack to eat during the tattoo session. 

  • PREPARE THE SKIN

Skin preparation is something that is must to do. If you have a dry skin, skin moisturization has to be started at least one week before the day you are planning to get the tattoo. Using a good deep skin moisturizer is a must. Not only this applying a good sunblock is also a must because not having sunburns and skin tans is a good condition to be maintained when taking a tattoo. But applying sunblock and moisturizing cream right before the tattooing session is not appropriate.

  • SHAVE

Not having a single trace of hair on the skin is very important to get a good tattoo output. But be careful when shaving the area which is getting tattooed because of skin irritations occur on the skin because of shaving will cause to ruin the entire tattoo session and make sure to moisturize the skin before and soon after shaving, to keep the skin hydrated and smooth.

  • REGULAR CONSULATION WITH THE TATTOO ARTIST.
  • DECIDING A GOOD AREA TO BE TATTOOED (there are some areas on the body which occur less pain and more pain during the tattooing process. Therefore, it is a must to be consider about the area where the tattoo is been placed)
  • EXFOLIATE THE SKIN BEFORE GETTING THE TATTOO
  • DON’T GO FOR THE TATTOO IF YOU ARE INJURED
