Among very famous hair removing methods, usage of epilator and waxing are very famous methods of removing unwanted hair. These two has gain this much of personality because of their capability of removing hair from its root. Waxing is a traditional method of hair removal that dated back to 60 B.C and a very famous Egyptian queen has used a paste made up of honey and oil to go hairless to show how their hygiene. In waxing a sugar paste has to be prepared using lemon, sugar and water. The prepared candy looking paste has to be applied on the required area, to the same direction of the hair growth and the hair can be removed by pulling off the applied sugar paste to the opposite direction of the hair growth. There are two types of waxing namely soft wax and hard wax where when doing the soft wax a strip of cloth or recycled paper is placed on the top of the applied wax paste and this cloth strip will be pressed into the wax paste that is applied on the top of the skin and when it is required to remove the hair, this cloth strip can be pulled away from the skin. With this method all the unwanted hair can be removed away with the applied sugar paste and the removed hair strands can be seen on the removed sugar wax. As the name implies soft wax is gentle unlike the hard wax. In hard wax the same method is applied but without using a cloth strip. By using both the methods unwanted hair can be removed easily by the root.

Epilator is an electric machine that is used to remove all the unwanted hair. This is similar to an electric shaver where this device can be used to run over the skin to pull out the unwanted hair. When this electric machine is passing over the skin, all the unwanted hair can be pulled away using its set of tweezers on the rotating wheel. These machines are come to the market with rechargeable batteries where the batteries can be charged again and again when required. Most importantly, there are two types of epilators as dry epilator and wet epilator where the dry epilator cannot be used when you are in the shower while wet epilator can be used when we are in the shower.

  • What do you think last longer?

Both the epilator and waxing take an equal time to grow back hair. Since in both the techniques the chair strands are removed from the root and the both the methods last equally. That means in both the methods, it will take 2-4 weeks to grow back hair.

  • What will be the length of the hair?

In order to do a wax, the length of the hair strand has to be at least ¼ of an inch or more, but if you are planning to use an epilator the length of the hair has to be 1/8 of an inch. Therefore, using the epilator, you can remove all the new regrown hair more quickly than that of the waxing.

  • Cost

Using epilator is the cheapest way to remove unwanted hair. The cost that has to be born when purchasing an epilator is a “one-time cost” while if you are using waxing you have to spend few dollars on continuous basis, whenever you are planning to a wax. If you are doing waxing on continuous basis, you have to prepare the wax paste again and again when the wax paste is over. For this, you have to buy lemon and sugar and you have to bear some cost to the water as well. This is not the only cost if you are doing wax. If you are using the soft wax, it is a must to spend few dollars on waxing strips and for the wax applicators. Therefore, using wax is bit expensive when compared with epilating. This is the cost that you have to be born if you are doing the wax at home. But still, if you are planning to go to a professional wax session the cost will be really high. Since you can purchase a good epilator from the market with unique features that costs around 30$-200$ will be the best investment because there is only a “one-time cost” embedded with the epilator.

  • Pain

No matter what you are using, if you are using an epilator or a you are using wax, the pain that has to be borne by both the methods are the same. In razing or when using a cream to remove unwanted hair it is painless because the hair is removed from the surface level of the skin unlike in waxing and in using epilator. Since the hair is removed from the root in the both methods, the pain that has to be incurred is high and in both the methods the same amount of pain has to be borne.

  •  Time

Time taken by the epilator to remove unwanted hair is comparatively low with the time taken by the waxing for the same task. In waxing, if you are planning to the waxing at home, the entire process will take a lot of time. Preparing the waxing bowl, applying it on the body and removing the sugar paste from the skin will take a considerable time when compared with the epilator. If you are doing the wax at home, the after-wax mess is high because you have to clean the place where you have prepared the wax. Even if you are taking the professional support for waxing it will take time too because you have travel for your appointment. If you are using an epilator, you just have to run the machine on the required area just to remove unwanted hair.

  • Skin irritations

Soon after you finish your waxing using the epilator there is a tendency of appearing red spots on the skin and it is completely normal. Therefore, after using the epilator it is good to use a good and deep moisturizer to avoid skin irritations and it is not recommended to go out as soon as you finished epilating. When compared with epilation, waxing has comparatively low tendency of occurring skin irritations. Most importantly, the waxing will give you with double benefits. Waxing will remove all the dead cells on the skin and will grant you with a smooth skin.

Waxing is the very famous hair removal remedy that is used by a lot of women all over the world because of the benefits granted by the waxing. Epilator has been invented to avoid all the drawbacks in waxing and it is obvious that epilator was able to overcome many of the problems in waxing. Yet, we can simply choose a good product according to the individual preferences.
